Anniversary Cupcakes

These chocolate chunk cupcakes were created for a couple's 17th wedding anniversary.  Each cuppie is swirled with chocolate fudge icing and topped with something representative of the couple's likes and interests.  Their four children, Disneyland, New York City, theater and drama, Star Wars, nicknames, and employment are all represented.  What a "delicious" anniversary treat!

Red Velvet, if you please?

My Mom has been kindly encouraging, nudging, and outright asking me to bake Red Velvet cupcakes for several weeks.  Making this cupcake has been on my "to do" list for quite a while.  So, as a welcome home treat for my Mom (she just returned home from a trip to DC with my Dad), I finally baked Red Velvet cupcakes!  These light on the chocolate and heavy on the RED cupcakes are sugary sweetness to perfection.  Add a swirl of tangy cream cheese icing, and va-va-voom . . . velvet deliciousness!

Brown Cow Anyone?

With the super hot days of summer upon us . . . anyone feel like enjoying a refreshing root beer float?  How about a brown cow cupcake instead?  (Which tastes exactly like a root beer float, only in cupcake form!)  The super moist  root beer cupcake is topped with thick, taste-bud-tickling root beer icing.  Then, for the "float" to be complete, fresh whipped cream is dolloped on top.  Add a straw for "sipping," a root beer barrel for sucking, and your sweet summertime root beer float cupcake is ready for sampling!

No better welcome to the world than . . . cupcakes!

There is no better way to be welcomed into the world than with a dozen delicious cupcakes!  I created these yummy baby girl-themed carrot cupcakes with pink cream cheese icing this past weekend.  Six of the cupcakes are topped with little fondant bottles, resting on fondant blankets.  The other six are topped with individual letters spelling the little cutie's name - Londyn.  You just can't beat being cute AND delicious (and the cupcakes aren't bad either!).

The Stars Are Out Tonight

It's Independence Day!  "I get red, white and blue at times." (Walt Disney)  And these 4th of July vanilla cupcakes with vanilla bean icing have me seeing red white and blue stars!  Happy Birthday, America!

Pretty Purple Pansy Birthday Cake

This yummy cake is covered with "little purple pansies, touched with yellow gold."  And unlike the pretty pansies growing in the garden, these pansies are 100% edible (made of royal icing).  The moist, rich carrot cake is filled with carrots, pineapple, coconut, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and toasted walnuts.  Tasty cream cheese icing fills and covers this yellow and purple birthday cake.  Deliciousness abounds!
