Mississippi Mud Bars

These brownies are dubbed "Mississippi Mud" due to the rich chocolate abounding throughout (and on top of) the dessert.  The moist and thick brownie is made with coconut and toasted walnuts mixed into the batter.  Then, the brownie is topped with a thin layer of melted marshmallow.   The marshmallow is covered with rich melted semi-sweet chocolate and sprinkled with more coconut and toasted walnuts.  Be sure to have a glass of milk handy to chug once finishing these decadent, but delicious brownies.

Rasberry Lime Cupcakes

What is even better than last week's raspberry lemon cupcakes?  This week's raspberry lime cupcakes, of course!  The super moist cake is made with fresh raspberry puree (with the seeds strained out).  Lime juice and zest are mixed directly into the batter to complement the fresh raspberry flavor.  The cupcakes are topped with delicious lime cream cheese icing.  The icing is made with fresh lime zest and fresh-squeezed lime juice.  A unique, yet tasty and unforgettable flavor combination - raspberry and lime.

Cream Soda Cupcakes

Sweet T has created her own delicious version of a root beer cupcake.  She has mastered the raspberry lemonade and raspberry limeade cupcakes.  What's next?  Concocting a cream soda cupcake!  Using both cream soda flavoring and the soda pop itself, Sweet T created a super moist and tasty cream soda cupcake.  Then topped the tasty cupcake with an even tastier cream soda cream cheese icing.  She added a final dollop of fresh whipped cream on top, and the perfect cream soda cupcake creation is ready to enjoy!

007 Birthday Cake

For my Dad's recent birthday, I created this special double-o-seven cake for the celebration.  He is quite the James Bond fan and his entire party was 007 themed.  The first 0 is a delicious carrot cake (with toasted walnuts-my Dad's favorite).  The second 0 is decadent chocolate chunk cake.  And the 7 and gun is moist vanilla cake.  Each cake is covered with tangy cream cheese icing and Sweet T's made-from-scratch fondant.  This tasty confection could be dubbed "The Cake that Loved Me."  When in fact, it is "we" who loved the cake!

Cars, Guitars, and Science Jars

My father-in-law retired after teaching for 30 years!  Wow!  The family held a celebration in his honor with the theme of "Cars, Guitars, and Science Jars."  Cars . . . because he owns a 1954 Mustang and is obsessed with most muscle and race cars.  Guitars   . . . because he owns and plays over 12 different types of guitars (including a 12 string).  And Science Jars . . . because he taught Jr. High science for 30 years!  His guitar cake is a delicious chocolate chunk with chocolate icing (and fondant details).  The mini-cupcakes are sweet strawberry, perfect peanut butter, oh so yummy cookies and cream, and cinnamon spice carrot.  I've never seen so many confections consumed in such a short amount of time.  Happy Retirement!

German Chocolate Cupcakes

Anyone care for a moist and decadent chocolate cupcake?  What if said cupcake is topped with a swirl of sweet chocolate fudge icing?  What if said icing is topped with a generous amount of buttery German chocolate filling chock full of toasted pecans and coconut?  And on top of that, a dollop of more chocolate icing?  It just gets better and better!  I'll take one, please . . . mmmmm . . . it tastes absolutely divine.  How does one say "Yum!" in German?

Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie Bars

This brownie bar is the perfect treat for those who love the blend and texture of peanut butter and chocolate together.  A thin peanut butter crust is created by using a portion of the peanut butter batter.  Then, alternating dollops of chocolate as well as peanut butter batter checkerboard the top.  To finish this decadent brownie bar, a sprinkling of mini semi-sweet morsels.  No icing necessary for these rich, delicious desserts.  However, an accompanying glass of milk is highly recommended!

Chocolate-covered peanut butter eggs for Easter

Easter is upon us . . . and so is the presence of various traditional Springtime treats.  One of which, the peanut butter egg, is my personal favorite.  I decided to create my own made-from-scratch version of that tasty delight.  First, I made the oh-so-yummy peanut butter filling, including peanuts, peanut butter, crushed graham crackers, and a few other delectable ingredients.  Even before being enrobed in chocolate, this peanut butter filling is melt-in-your-mouth wonderful.  I rolled and formed each little egg by hand, then dipped them in either milk or white chocolate.  Chocolate-covered peanut butter eggs for Easter.  It's going to be a delicious day!

Citrus Bars

These delicious Citrus Bars are a personal favorite of mine (being that I love nearly all things citrus - from scents to flavors).  The buttery, flaky crust is topped with the tastiest of citrus custard.  Both fresh-squeezed orange, lemon, and lime juice (as well as the zest from each) is included.  Not too sour, nor too sweet . . . this bar is the perfect blend of citrus flavors.  A generous sprinkling of confectioner's sugar finishes each rectangular delight.

Caramel Turtle Bars

When one thinks of eating a delicious dessert, selecting a turtle of any kind upon which to snack is not usually recommended.  However, if the turtle in question happens to be one of Sweet T's delicious Caramel Turtle Bars, please snack . . . devour . . . and enjoy!  A buttery shortbread crust provides the foundation for this decadent bar.  Freshly-made caramel, toasted pecans, and a generous drizzle of chocolate top each bar.  This turtle is "out of its shell" and ready to be enjoyed for dessert!

Rocky Road Brownies

Thick, rich, and moist chocolate brownies are a mouth-watering treat all alone on a plate. However, a tasty brownie topped with a layer of melted marshmallow and toasted almonds makes that treat extraordinary.  Add a few of these scrumptious rocky road brownies to that lone treat on the plate and the day becomes nearly perfect.  Bring on the rocky road!

Lemon Meringue Pie Cupcakes

What is better than lemon meringue pie?  What is better than a  lemon cupcake?  A lemon meringue pie cupcake, of course!  These tasty lemon cupcakes are topped with a miniature lemon meringue pie (of sorts).  100% made-from-scratch, these lemon-y morsels are a delight for the taste buds.  Flaky pie crust cut with a cookie cutter is placed on each lemon cupcake.  Atop the pie crust sits delicious lemon custard pie filling (made with just enough fresh-squeezed lemon juice and zest).  Then, a dollop of sweet, toasted meringue tops each treat.  Lemon perfection!
